End of The Week...

A week full of fun, laughs, a new Kiddo, and tears...

Monday: 2 minutes before I circled up the Kiddos to go on our field trip, a new child walks in. Yes, the new child was for my class. So, as we walked to our classroom, I had to calm a child down, keep my excited Kiddos from running in front of other parents in the parking lot, and give instructions. I felt like a mom. I was able to get all the Kiddos ready for the bus ride to the Hardy Berry Farm and somewhat calmed down. I had 8 Kiddos with only our wonderful bus driver [Mr. Daddy aka my Dad] as the only adult aling for the trip. We enjoyed our trip to the Hardy Berry Farm and once we got back to school, we conked out. Well, the kiddos did. :)

Tuesday: A whole different ballpark. My new Kiddo did not know what to expect when he had to go to a classroom instead of a field trip for the day. I believe that day was the hardest one for all of us. I had many more boys than girls so the males made it known in typical male fashion-Fighting. I almost pulled out my hair. We made it through the day with too many fights to count and not enough girls in the classroom. Oh, the icecream truck came & we all got icecreams!! Bubblegum Snowcones are the top seller for my class.

Wednesday: More males than females so more fighting. :) We did not get to have Water Day because of all the fighting. When there is a special activity on certain days, you earn the opportunity to participate in that activity. Well, we missed that opportunity. And like a good teacher I am, I let my Kiddos walk pass the other class getting to have water day; my Kiddos got to explain why they did not get to participate in Water Day. That was a well learned experience because the rest of the week I would hear "...hey, you better be good or we dobn't get Water Day next week..." or "...I think you should miss every Water Day because you're being bad..." I think we succeeded with that lesson.

Thursday: Yeah, you guessed it...more males than females. It was a much better day thanks to everyone getting use to the new Kiddo and the caution of missing another Water Day.

Friday: Yeah, more males than females but we had so much fun. In Ms. Mary's class, we ADORE Fridays!! We get to have 2 days of NO school!! How fun is that?!?!

Ok, enough of the week; now to the laughs...
**for the privacy of my students, I will use their self chosen nicknames**

*Hayes*: "Hey *DoodleBug*, why didn't you let me go to the beach with you?"
*DoodleBug*: "What??"
Meaning: *Hayes* had a dream during naptime that he couldn't go to the beach with *DoodleBug* & *Abbaloo* because they made hinm stay home & work

*Guitara*: [with hands held out & very dramatic] "Oh my gosh, she lost both her glass slippers; what are we going to do?"
Meaning: Pocahontas lost her shoes while running through the woods in England and *Guitara* was very upset with her loosing her shoes. Movie: When Pocahontas goes to England to meet the king; a Disney classic.

While playing house...
Ms. Mary: "So, *Abbaloo*, when did you have babies?"
*Abbaloo*: "After I got married."
Ms. Mary: "When did you get married?"
*Abbaloo*: "Last Saturday. The babies came real quick after the wedding."
Ms. Mary: "Wow" [& yes I laughed then]

Getting ready for nap...
*E*: "Hey let's watch that AMINAL movie, you know the one with all them lions...it's the Lion King I think..."
Ms. Mary: "You said you wanted to watch "Aladdin" before we went to lunch so that's what we're watching."
*E*: "Hey, I like that movie. It's got a pretty girl in it."
Ms. Mary: **EYE ROLL**

Have a great weekend!!
Ms. Mary
