Flowers, Globes, New Baby Doll Clothes, and a Soldier

Today was a new start to the week. We started our day with talking about The Flowers family's mission trip to Colombia. I held our globe and showed the different stops the Flowers were taking. From Texas, to Panama, then finally Colombia: according to *E* it doesn't seem too far away. When Sarah sent a text that they were on the airplane to Panama, I told the Kiddos. My most dramatic one started crying. These Kiddos haven't met the Flowers family but they know about them thanks to me. The rest of the day I was asked when the Flowers were coming home or if they were coming to our class tomorrow. I think my Kiddos want to meet them.

Over the weekend I went to the local Good Will store and bought some baby clothes for our baby dolls and yes, they were throughly washed before I took them to my classroom. As I was shopping, I kept saying "yes, those snaps on that shirt will help with fine motor skills; those buttons too; oh, the boys will like that camo shirt." I didn't realize how funny that sound. I was talking like that my own babies were working on their fine motor skills by dressing themselves not my Kiddos. Only Ms. Mary... Well, I shared the new clothes with the Kiddos and they thought they were awesome. They were so happy to have new clothes for the classroom baby dolls. I've taught my Kiddos how to be polite; they kept saying thank you.

We talked about Soldier Alex today. We are going to send him a package full of candy and gum. My Kiddos think Soldier Alex is the biggest hero ever. I showed them a picture of him and they asked why he had a gun. I said that he needed the gun to protect him and us. I added that only police men & soldiers are allowed to use the guns to protect us; guns are not for us to use; and that the president told them to use the guns. They are proud of Soldier Alex. Ms. Mary is too!!

So...the promised funnies...

*Abbalou*: "I have a baby, Jaspret. (Jasper)
"Jaspret gets a bath, he always get bubbles"

*E*: "Hey, can we call Ms. Sarah when she gets home?"
a few minutes later..."hey, is she home yet?"
*Abbalou*: ~crying~ [dramatic I think]

*Guitara*: "My baby's name is Sarah just like Ms. Sarah's name."
"My baby is one sick sick man"
[I think she forgot the gender of her baby doll...]

*H*: "Do you know what time it is on my watch, Ms. Mary?"
Ms. Mary: "I can't see it from here."
*H*: "It's 48:50 o'clock."
[note to self: try to look harder to find that pretend watch on his arm...]

*E*: "My arm use to be pierced."
meaning: he had a bug bite...imagination at the best.

While looking at Soldier Alex's picture...
*Abbalou*: "Oh, he's cute just like a baby."
